Mental Health Counseling Intern

As a future mental health counselor, my biggest priority is to empower my clients and provide them with a safe space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges. I tackle each client as a unique individual who has their own set of challenges as well as strengths. By allowing my clients the space to explore and reauthor their story while incorporating their strengths, I strive to teach them the tools they need to problem-solve and navigate conflict.

I have a lot of experience working with children in various settings, including as a teacher. I am passionate about providing children with the tools they need to understand and process emotions leading to better emotional development later in life and helping to destigmatize mental health early on. I am also passionate about guiding adolescents and young adults through transitional stages and the everyday difficulties of growing up. Ultimately, I wish for my clients to come out of therapy knowing that vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness, and to become better advocates for themselves outside of our sessions.

I conduct my sessions with a person-centered approach using narrative, strength-based, family of origin, and cognitive behavioral therapy elements. My client's well-being is my top priority throughout our sessions together. I provide therapy services in the office or through Telehealth, primarily serving the greater Northern Chicagoland area.
